About MOTS-c
MOTS-c is a mitochondrial-derived peptide encoded in the 12S rRNA gene of mitochondrial DNA. It regulates metabolic homeostasis by activating the AMPK pathway, enhancing glucose uptake and fatty acid oxidation.
