About MGF (Mechano Growth Factor)
Mechano Growth Factor is IGF-1Ec, an alternative splice variant of the IGF-1 gene that human skeletal muscle upregulates after mechanical loading or damage. Its biology in humans is real and measurable: resistance exercise significantly increases MGF mRNA in young muscle, though notably not in elderly muscle (aged 70-82), which is one of the more interesting findings about it. The important distinction is that this is evidence about MGF the body makes, not evidence about injecting MGF — no human trial has administered the synthetic peptide. Animal work has shown effects on motoneuron survival and muscle function, and its native half-life in circulation is very short.
