About Livagen
Livagen (Lys-Glu-Asp-Ala) is a synthetic short peptide from the Khavinson 'bioregulator' series, proposed to act on the liver. The tissue-specific bioregulator concept is a research hypothesis, not an established mechanism. In organotypic culture Livagen stimulated growth of rat liver explants, it altered enkephalin-degrading enzyme activity in human serum in vitro, and it is among the peptides that changed aging-related chromatin markers in small elderly-subject studies; there are no controlled clinical outcome trials, and the evidence comes largely from a single research group.
