About GHRP-6
GHRP-6 is a hexapeptide ghrelin-receptor agonist and one of the earliest GH secretagogues characterised in humans. Its distinguishing feature is appetite: it activates the hypothalamic NPY/AgRP neurons that drive hunger, and the resulting food-intake increase is far more pronounced than with GHRP-2 or Ipamorelin — a liability for body-composition goals and sometimes the reason it is chosen. Its GH response depends on intact endogenous GHRH signalling, so it is weaker on its own than in combination with a GHRH analogue. A controlled study in healthy men found it also increased slow-wave sleep alongside GH, ACTH, and cortisol release.
