About GHRP-2 (Pralmorelin)
GHRP-2, also known as pralmorelin, is a synthetic ghrelin-receptor (GHS-R1a) agonist that triggers a strong pituitary GH pulse. It is the most clinically established peptide in this family: Japan approved it as a diagnostic agent for assessing hypothalamic-pituitary function, and the GHRP-2 stimulation test has been studied as a substitute for the insulin tolerance test in hypopituitarism and for detecting secondary adrenal failure. Like ghrelin itself it also raises appetite — a controlled study in healthy men showed a measurable increase in food intake — and produces a modest, transient rise in ACTH, cortisol, and prolactin alongside GH.
