About Epithalon
Epithalon (also called Epitalon or AEDG, Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) is a synthetic tetrapeptide modeled on epithalamin, a peptide from the pineal gland. In laboratory cell cultures and rodent studies it activates telomerase, elongates telomeres, raises antioxidant enzyme activity, and has extended lifespan in mice and rats by roughly 12–24%. Human evidence is limited to two small trials — one in retinitis pigmentosa (visual-field improvement) and one reporting increased nighttime melatonin — so its telomere and longevity claims remain preclinical and are not proven in people.
Key Benefits
- Activates telomerase and elongates telomeres in cell studies (not shown in humans)
- Extended lifespan ~12–24% in rodent studies
- Increased nighttime melatonin in one small human trial
- Raises antioxidant enzyme activity in preclinical models

How to Take
Common Side Effects
- No established human safety profile (very few human studies)
- No side effects reported in a 162-patient eye-disease trial
- Injection-site reactions (typical of subcutaneous peptides)
Legal & Regulatory Status
Research use only. Not FDA-approved; no IND or NDA filed in the US. Human data limited to two small trials (retinitis pigmentosa; circadian/melatonin).
Safety and regulatory details for FDA-approved compounds are drawn from the official product label via openFDA; clinical development status reflects ClinicalTrials.gov. This information is provided for research reference, is not endorsed by the FDA, and may not be complete or current.
