About Colivelin
Colivelin is a hybrid peptide: activity-dependent neurotrophic factor fused to the N-terminus of AGA-(C8R)HNG17, a potent humanin derivative. Its headline property is extraordinary in-vitro potency — it fully suppressed neuronal death caused by familial Alzheimer's genes and amyloid-beta at 100 femtomolar, working through two pathways (CaMKIV via the ADNF component and STAT3 via the humanin component). In mouse models it improved memory and reduced amyloid deposition in PDAPP and APP/PS1 mice and prolonged survival in an ALS model. All of that is animal and cell-culture work, and much of it used intrahippocampal or intranasal administration rather than systemic dosing. The femtomolar potency figure is also worth holding alongside vial sizes: a compound active at 100 femtomolar in a dish is being sold in 50mg and 100mg vials, quantities with no relationship to any studied dose. It is closely related to Humanin, already in this catalog.
