About AOD-9604

AOD-9604 is a modified fragment (176-191) of human growth hormone designed to mimic hGH's lipolytic (fat-burning) action without effects on blood sugar or growth. It stimulates lipolysis in animal and cell studies. Crucially, human trials did not confirm meaningful weight loss: a 12-week study showed only a small effect that was not dose-dependent, and larger clinical development for obesity was discontinued after it failed to beat placebo. It is not an approved weight-loss agent.

Key Benefits

  • Stimulates fat breakdown in animal/cell studies
  • Does not affect blood sugar or IGF-1
  • Human obesity trials did NOT show meaningful weight loss
  • Clinical development for obesity was discontinued
